THE THREE VIA FERRATA ON SCHIARA

The Three Via Ferrata of Schiara offer an exciting and challenging adventure for mountain and via ferrata enthusiasts, located in the heart of the Dolomiti Bellunesi range, specifically in the Schiara Group. This circuit includes three renowned and appreciated ferrata routes: Sperti, Zacchi, and Piero Rossi, offering stunning views and demanding climbs on vertical rock faces, ideal for those seeking both adrenaline and breathtaking panoramas.

How to Get There:
To access the via ferrata routes, you first need to reach the Rifugio 7° Alpini. The starting point is Località Bortot, where you’ll find the parking area. From here, follow the CAI 501 trail, which takes you to the refuge, with an elevation gain of about 800 meters. It’s a moderately difficult hike that also helps with acclimatization before tackling the more challenging via ferrata routes.

The Full Ferrata Circuit:
If you want to complete the entire circuit of the Three Via Ferrata of Schiara, it is recommended to stay overnight at the refuge or one of the nearby bivouacs, as the full loop takes around 10-11 hours. The route is long and physically demanding, so it’s difficult to complete it in one day unless you have a high level of physical and technical preparation.
Warning!
This route is advanced, intended for experienced hikers with solid knowledge of mountain techniques, climbing, or via ferrata. Safety is paramount, so it is essential to have full via ferrata gear (harness, helmet, via ferrata set) and mountain boots.
